Here is what community support has made possible, as reported in our news.
- Historic Hamtramck Stadium: Wayne County approved an $850,000 grant in 2021 toward a $2.6 million investment in the stadium, one of only five National Negro Leagues stadiums in operation in the United States.
- The Wall: the tennis wall at Veterans Memorial Park was restored in 2023 with Hoxie alumni, local members of the United States Tennis Association, and volunteers.
- Veterans Memorial: in 2024 the Conservancy funded maintenance and repairs, including the stone platform, cleaning, and a damaged part of the gate and fencing.
- Elaine and Roger Zatkoff Playground: plans were announced in 2024 for new play structures at Veterans Park designed for younger children.
- Veterans Park patio: HPC and Yemen Cafe collaborated on a public patio space that benefits cafe customers and park visitors alike.
- Programming/Event Stipend: stipends of up to $1,000 for outdoor public events at Hamtramck City parks, launched in 2025.
